1. The inspiration came while listening to the ideas of a classmate, she wanted to do something with crayons, and to others response " that's already been done" I thought that I could make a piece of art through the combined melting of crayons. It was not to be in any specific shape or form, I just wanted to see the change in the color and thickness of the crayons.
2. I had to try this several times before actually accomplishing my goal, first I tried to melt them with a blow dryer, but that took too long and did not have the same effect. As well as putting them in the oven. So finally I tried stove top, it heated and melted the crayons perfectly and in a timely fashion.
3. after seeing the outcome of the melting, I think that it was really well done, seeing the colors mix and melt into each other was really cool and, if just a photo would make for a cool wall decoration. In the end the colors all mixed to make a nasty dark brown almost black color, which was expected and is and excellent portrayal of the color wheel.
