Angry Pancakes
This was the second time I have created angry pancakes. This time I took the image a little farther: I got rid of the butter in the front because I thought it was obstructing the view of the mouth, added a blackberry on the opposite side of the pancake to make it look like two eyes, and then added eye pupils to the blackberries. Since I had already used Photoshop before, this exercise was a little bit of a refresher and I was able to complete it quicker than usual. I think I could still improve on how I soften the edges of the added images to make it a part of the scene, as well as changing the coloration of the eyes or even make the eyes out of the blackberries without adding the need for another photo. Its kind of choppy and is easy to tell its alterations, I definitely need to improve on my cloning and blurring tools.. But overall I agree that its a meal that I would not want to eat.
Apples Reflection
The apples reflection was a little harder, I couldn't quite get the apples to flip or fade in the way that I had imagined they'd be. Layers are what confuse me. So that you have to be on the right layer, or can't make any changes to a layer with out duplicating it first to avoid mistakes. I had the apple reflection fade out more and appear to be darker, gray, to give it more than just a faded version of itself, it still doesn't look like a reflection but The darkness gives it the appearance of reflection. The other image that resembles a kind of painting was an accident, and my first try. I was trying to remove the background surrounding the apples using the wrong tool. It had just filled the excess space with itself. Each time I tried it had the same outcome, until I figured out you can't delete the background on the background layer. But I liked it so much I kept it as my first draft.
Frog Tongue
Like the Angry Pancakes this was not the first time making the frog tongue, though we used different pictures and there was less color to play with, it was mostly the same. The first photo was the frog tongue I had done back in Art 1, with the red lips. Honestly I don't think I have made much improvement between then and now, I would even argue I did worse. It may have been because I was sort of rushing the project, it still doesn't look like the frog is a part of the tongue. Despite the shadow the cloning stamp made it hard to keep the shading of the original tongue, the flow and the texture of the tongue. the shading and the light is all messed up, kinda looks like a little bumpy thing is growing out of the tongue. The cloning tool is definitely not my strength, their colors were just so similar, and the image had too much light. But with this new draft, I left a partial white edge and the frog kind of goes off the page into the white, it gives the tongue an almost 3D effect.
