So I really like how this piece turned out. I picked global pollution as my topic because it had been the focus of another class I was taking. It is a global issue and I think that this piece really embodies the severity and magnanimity of the worlds pollution problem. Basically I had used different types of pollution for the different parts of the globe; The water parts consist of text based off of overfishing, and toxic chemicals released into the wild blue, then the land parts include trash that was collected to represent the continents.
So I didn't really plan, this idea came to me, and I had an image in my head and I just kind of went with it. The colors all stayed within the color scheme of the earth, and later the beads were added to border the continents to make them stand out. The beads were an idea suggested by a classmate. After all the piece had come together the background seemed a little dull so the words above "Find A Solution to Pollution" were then added.
I think overall this piece was successful in translating the message. The trash empha
sizes our growing trash accumulation all over our world through the growing of consumerism and of course this is effecting our environment. in my opinion I thought that trash too cover the ocean would have been too much so I put words to speak for the ocean damage insaed. After text and trash the beads were an added bonus for a little brightness. Like a flicker of hope that we can reduce our trash accumulation, they act as borders and limits to our contamination.
